Title:  NCCR GP30 2580
Description:  This view shows the front end roof detals. The details West bell on all of my high hood units have the center cut out and two peices of angled plastic (brackets) placed in side. This is typical of all prototype units with high mounted bells comon to Norfolk Southern, Southern Railway, and Norfolk & Western units. The horn is a Details Assoiates part which requires each peice to placed together with a great deal of care. Glasses required, Even for a young guy.

Title:  NCCR GP35U 2598
Description:  This view shows the Kato side frames that had the brake rigging rebuilt to replicate that of the real ones. Athern brake shoes were used in between the wheel sets and the outer clasp were removed. The sander brackets are made of sheet brass cut in a "L" pattern and placed on the bottom side of the retainers.

Title:  NCCR GP30 2580
Description:  This is a P2K GP30 with various details added. All the 18" strait grab irons were replaced with 0.010" brass wire. The coupler lift bars were hand made so out of the same and are done so that they have the beat down look of years of hard use. The head light housing on the cast mold was not to scale and was replaced with a Cannon & Company part obtained from any hood end kit. Also very visible are the A-Line wind sheild wipers used along with the Details West hood mounted bell.

Description:  This view is of the Kato side frames on the former ATSF/BNSF GP35U #2598. The details shown depicts a Hytte bearing casing that has been drilled out to fit a Timkin bearing. A Details West bearing cap was used. This practice is very common on CSX units of all types. Also a better look at the Athern brake rigging placed in the side frames to replicate rebuilt side frames common to many BB configured units now a days.

Description:  This view show the front pilot of the P2K SD9 that was used and was compleatly rebuilt to duplicate the real thing. New buffer plates were added, A Details West part. The coupler lift bars were hand made using 0.010" brass wire to replicate those that were on the former N&W units.

Title:  NS SD9M 54 (Rear pilot)
Description:  This view is of the rear pilot which was copmpleatly rebuilt to match the real deal. The base unit was a P2K SD9. The rear pilot details are some what differant from the front pilot with minor changes such as the MU cable in a differant postion and the bottom kick plates on the pilot painted black as if they have been replaced. The coupler lift bars are hand made by using 0.010" brass wire to replicate those on the former N&W units.
